Thanks for visiting my site! There are a couple of ways your group can meet Mr Thoreau:

Step back into time and visit 1846! I can meet your school or group at Walden Pond; a conversation at the Pond generally lasts one hour. A longer visit can also include a guided tour into Walden Woods with Mr. Thoreau.

If you want Mr. Thoreau to come to you: Unlike the real Henry Thoreau, I'm willing to leave Concord once in a while! A one hour visit is more formal and usually includes a reading of a Thoreau essay, such as "Walking", and then a "question and answer" session afterward, all in character, of course!

As a Thoreau scholar and historian, I am also available to speak as "Richard Smith" at symposiums, historical society events, round tables, lecture series, and library functions on a wide variety of 19th Century historical subjects. I'm also available to do research as well.

Let's discuss what you want! To find out more about my availability and rates, contact me by email: henry1845@hotmail.com

"I am surprised as well as delighted when anyone wishes to know what I think." - Thoreau's Journal, 1853
